The first story is about the 'London Marathon and Boston Bombings' , this story obviously has a big threshold because of what happened in the 'Boston Marathon Bombings'. This is because they don't want the same thing happening in the London ones. To start off with the story is saying that thousands of people stood in commemoration of what happened to those who died/got injured or who were affected by the Boston Bombings. Since this event happened not so long ago, it is not surprising that it is still being continued as the headlining story in the news. The frequency of the Boston Bombings story has been continued for a long period of time covering different aspects of what happened or who may have done it. Because it was a world affecting story and affected so many people, this is probably the reason it's still continuing it's headlining in the news and has been linked up to the London Marathon, suggesting more security. The media couldn't simplify exactly what happened in the Boston Marathon but they made it accessible to the public since so many people were involved and 17,000 people were involved with the London Marathon too, making this story unambiguous. The meaningfulness of this story is huge. Considering what happened 6 days before the London Marathon, people were running for those who died/suffered from the bombings. There was a moment of silence that thousands of people did, in memory of those who suffered. The events 6 days ago were really unexpected which is why this story is so big and because terrorism is such a threat. No one knew this was going to happen, no one knew there was going to be an explosion, no one had prepared for an attack, they just wanted to run. Which is why the London Marathon was so over protected, because of the events that happened before it. The element of surprise shocked nations and it became a massive deal considering it is a huge place in America. The reference to Elite Nations would be America. America is such a huge country, which has fought against terrorism beforehand. They continue to have these attacks such as 9/11, Colorado shootings etc; which makes the Boston Bombings even more significant and the highest level of importance. This story is both negative and positive. They're talking about the negativity of the Boston Bombings but the people who ran the London Marathon ran for the people who suffered and still the marathon went ahead and it was successful. Later on in this story, Prince Harry is shown to have been interviewed saying what a successful day it was, mentioning the security levels, (showing he knew about what happened in Boston) and thanked everyone for taking part in it. The presence of an Elite Person, just shows their 'dignified' opinion and their views on everything that happens.
The second story is smoothly changed from the good hearted London Marathon to a more in depth report of the 'Boston Bombings'. The news reader is saying how the two men who were suspected to have done it. She's also said the 19 year old, is seriously ill after the shoot out that took place that day. The Elite Person shown in this story is the Boston Mayor, showing his concerns and views on what happened and what he thinks people should do about it, as well as himself. There is vast negativity in this news story because of the way they have said about the 19 year old (and others) having more explosives and weapons which obviously creates fear and tension between countries and the people who protect them. This is sending out a vibe that people should be careful as the explosives they found on the boat might lead to more attacks.
The third story is about the 'Duchess of Cambridge honouring scouts'. The meaningfulness of this story is quite high considering there is a member of the royal family (Elite Person). This story was obviously expected because the shots were kind of set up and the camera angles/shots changed a lot.
