[Watch the first minute of this video]
The first part of this video has fast pace music to start off with, they use 'beeps' which helps count down to the news, this shows us at the very start of the video within 3 seconds, that the news will get to you faster than any other information source. There is also a count down clock, which ties in with the pacey music. It lasts a few seconds, but clearly shows that the information/news will get to you quickly and concisely.
There's also transparent objects which are in the beginning bit too. A red line is flying across the Thames and next to a news reporter, it could represent the journey of the information and how quickly it gets to the audience. It could also represent the tube, showing that the BBC are based in London, one of the most famous capital cities in the world, showing it has the largest access to other countries news etc;
Another example of transparent objects would be the red lines, wrapping themselves around the world. When the world appears with the wrapping of the text, it happens after the landmarks such as Washington DC, Afghanistan and London are shown. This could suggest that the news isn't just from these places, it is from all over the world and it doesn't matter where you are, you can always know what's going on with world affairs. The wrapping of the text and transparent objects, could suggest that we're all included, a whole. As the text is wrapping itself around the world, in a protective way. Those particular landmarks are placed there because they're the most famous. Even though Afghanistan isn't really a landmark, it is a daily world affair which is covered in the news everyday, people may have family and friends there, so it shows that the BBC sympathise for that and update you daily in the news and show what is currently happening in Afghan.
When the news reader appears on the screen, you notice that she is dressed formally, looks smart and well presented. She doesn't hang about when saying the first news story, it goes straight into it. This shows that the news is fast getting to you and shows they really mean that. The transparent objects also comes into play again, you can see the windows behind her, showing the working environment she's in and shows the computers and technology surrounding her, this suggests that the people behind her are also gathering new stories around the world, again, showing the time essence.
