Short films
Example 1: Love sick
Love sick is a short film about a man who is desperate for love. He just got dumped and he found a new woman but he has to out run a tram and take the shortcut to find her again. He loses her and then finds another woman he likes to think that he loves.
This short film is one of the few that I like. It's story line can be related to so well as we have all been in love all liked someone before. The way it's written is good. The dialogue, which in this case is a voice-over is well thought of. The voice over is best for this short film as the story line is based around his thoughts, the way he thinks and his actions in the film. I have written the script myself based on what happens in the first 1:20 minutes of the short film. You get a sense of both outer and inner presence, as well as the plot points too.

Example 2: Remain
Remain is a short film about young girls being use for sex trafficking, one of the women who has been taken, kills the men who are doing it as a mission. She tells her boss she wants to quit the job. He uses her past, and tries to guilt trip her, about how she had to kill her own father to get the job. She ends up killing her boss to revolve the problem of finally being able to quit. She is no longer controlled.
I have decided to redo the script from one of my favourite scenes. I have done the script from 7:30 until 10:30 minutes in. This is because the outer presence, inner presence, action and dialogue are all good in this scene and I personally like it. It relates to my short film well as there is a killing in it and a man tries to control a woman.

Similar news stories
To help with our short film, research of similar incidents, viewing figures for popular crime dramas and other research is needed to help us understand a little bit more about the market we are placing this into.I have researched into any similar incidents in real life that involved a wife accidentally killing her husband. One interesting article I found was a 71 year old woman who ran over her 69 year old husband by accident in Venice, yesterday. This article struck my attention because I have never heard of a woman killing their husband before. [Click here for the whole news article]
Another example of a freak accident is this: a 9 year old accidentally killed a 3 year old playmate

My inspiration for the script
The inspiration for my script came from the Oscar Pistorius story of him 'accidentally' killing his girlfriend. This is a very controversial news story, so I didn't want my script to follow the exact key events, however, personally I have always been interested in other single camera crime dramas such as CSI New York, which would help me develop my style of writing.

Location
The location for my film would be in a normal household and a lawyers office where the husband is seen in. I always imagined the household to be quite modern as they are highly paid in both their respectful fields of work. The office in the second location seemed to look like in my mind as large, opened spaced, light and something that would look like it belongs at a law firm. I wanted to give the impression that murders/manslaughter can happen anytime, anyday, anywhere and between anyone. Even if it's husband and wife.

Characters
My idea of the characters is that it would be a tad sterotyped. A tall man, well groomed, dark hair, in a nice expensive suit to show how wealthy he is. And for the woman, she would be attractive, slim, long dark hair, good fashion sense and well groomed. This was because I wanted to show that their profession is very well paid and their home and all their luxuries show this, as well for their looks.
