Notice: We made a mistake on the sugar paper, the brief was to remarket one Unilever product and make it appeal to a wider target audience. The client is in fact Unliever and not our target audience like we put down.
Ideas:
Ideas generation: We discussed in our group, what products we could remarket and why and all the possible target audiences and advert ideas. Firstly we thought of Ben and Jerry's then Lipton's Ice Tea and then we finalised the idea of remarketing Pot Noodle. As you can see from the image above we brainstormed everything that would be included in our production.
Initial plans and proposals: A busy business man is preparing to leave for some sort of work, first shots indicates that he's in a rush. Close ups on the clock/watch showing the time and showing he's getting dressed quickly too. He's about to leave. he looks to the clock, to the pot noodle, back to the clock. Grabs the pot noodle as he leaves, then cuts to him pouring the kettle water into the pot noodle at his job. At the end he's relaxed.
Indentification of overt/hidden messages: Hidden; Dull colours (blue's, grey's) to indicate it's a stressed situation (like the BT advert we watched) he's really busy, wanting to leave for work. Shows he lives a dull, stressful life with his job, which is what most middle class people have which can be easily related too. When he eats the pot noodle the colours change, they get warmer (red's, orange) indicates a relaxed, stress free situation. Show's that the pot noodle has made him more relaxed in his job. Creates a problem and gives a resolution to it. Cheaper than buying food from a cafeteria.
Overt; Quick and easy to make, less time consuming than making lunch before you leave work when you're already stressed enough as it is.
Style: The style of our ad is serious, as it follows a man in a serious career.
Relevance to audience: The advert is relevant to our audience as the man is posh and has a middle class home and job. Our audience is for 'posh' people, (upper/middle class). This shows the relevance to the audience from our advert.
